Cox is no longer accepting applications for 2008 events. We encourage you to apply for funding in 2009.
Charitable Giving
At Cox Communications, we’re proud to invest in the communities we serve. Our commitment to Middle Georgia isn’t just a slogan or a few words pulled from our vision statement – it’s something we believe in and act on each day. To this end, we are actively committed to supporting the good works of local nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life for all Middle Georgians. Moreover, due to the growing volume of inquiries received and as part of our organization’s commitment to the environment, Cox’s nationwide process for requesting charitable support has changed.
To apply for cash and/or in-kind support, charities are now required to complete a paperless online application. Requests will be automatically processed and prioritized in the order they are received.
Cox’s support is granted to nonprofits via cash sponsorships, Public Service Announcements and discounted Cox High Speed Internet and video services. Cox’s primary focus relates to youth and education, but we also support projects that meet community needs and relate to our business interests. Special consideration is also given to organizations that subscribe to Cox services and at which our employees volunteer.
Eligibility Requirements
Cox partners with nonprofits approved by the IRS as a 501c3 or 501c9 organization. Support is reserved for local organizations located within and providing services to the Middle Georgia communities we serve. Sponsorships are typically awarded for specific projects rather than for general operating support or capital campaigns. Cox reserves the sole right to make special exceptions and may choose to support programs or events that do not fall within our accepted categories.
